Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data Invest Smartlys collects when you visit investsmartlys.com, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.
Last updated: 16 August 2026
The short version
We don’t sell your data, we don’t ask you to create an account, and we don’t require you to give us any personal information to read the site. The data we do collect is mostly ordinary web server and analytics information, plus anything you choose to send us through the contact form.
Who we are
Invest Smartlys is an independent personal finance publication, operated from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The site is hosted by Hostinger. You can reach us through our contact page.
What we collect
Server logs
Like all websites, our host records standard technical information when a page is requested: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, and the date and time of the request. This is used for security, diagnosing faults and understanding traffic patterns. It is not used to identify you personally.
Analytics
We use Burst Statistics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that stores data on our own server rather than sending it to a third party. It records page views, referring sources, approximate location by country, and device type.
We also use Google Site Kit, which connects the site to Google Search Console and Google Analytics. Where Google Analytics is active, Google may set cookies and process data according to its own privacy policy. You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
The contact form
If you send us a message, we receive whatever you put in the form — typically your name, email address and message. We use it to reply to you and nothing else. We don’t add you to a mailing list without your asking, and we don’t pass it to anyone.
Comments
If you leave a comment, we store the comment text, the name and email address you supply, and your IP address. Comments are moderated before publication.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site uses them for:
- Essential functions — keeping the site working correctly and remembering preferences
- Performance — our caching plugin, WP Rocket, may set cookies to serve pages faster
- Analytics — as described above
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features may behave differently.
Advertising
Invest Smartlys does not currently display third-party advertising, and we hold no affiliate relationships with the financial products, providers or platforms we write about. We are not paid when a reader opens an account, buys a policy or applies for a card.
If we introduce advertising in future, we will update this policy before doing so, and we will disclose it clearly on the site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to delete it
- Object to how we’re using it
- Ask for a copy in a portable format
If you’re in the UK or EU, these rights come from the UK GDPR and EU GDPR. If you’re in California, the CCPA gives you comparable rights, including the right to know what is collected and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information under any definition.
To exercise any of these, email us through the contact page. We’ll respond within 30 days.
How long we keep data
- Server logs — retained by our host for a limited period for security and diagnostics
- Analytics data — retained in aggregate; not tied to identifiable individuals
- Contact form messages — kept while we’re dealing with your enquiry, then deleted
- Comments — retained indefinitely unless you ask us to remove them
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted. We use security software to monitor for unauthorised access. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Links to other sites
Our articles link to external sources — regulators, government bodies, banks, insurers and airlines — so you can verify what we’ve written. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one doesn’t apply to them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the site.
