Disclaimer
Invest Smartlys publishes general information about personal finance. This page explains the limits of that information and what it is not.

This is not financial advice
Nothing on this site is personalised financial, investment, tax, legal, insurance or mortgage advice. We don’t know your income, debts, tax position, dependants, risk tolerance or goals, and we can’t give advice without them.
What we publish is general information intended to help you understand how something works and ask better questions. The decision, and the responsibility for it, remains yours.
Before acting on anything you read here, consider taking advice from a professional who is licensed in your own country and who knows your circumstances.
We are not licensed advisers
Invest Smartlys is a publication, not a financial services firm. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, the Securities and Exchange Commission, or any equivalent body, and we do not hold ourselves out as licensed advisers, brokers or planners.
Investments can lose money
The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you put in. Past performance does not predict future results. Cryptocurrency is highly volatile and you can lose your entire investment.
Any figures, returns or projections in our articles are illustrative examples used to explain a concept. They are not forecasts and not promises.
Rates, rules and product terms change
Interest rates, tax thresholds, contribution limits, insurance premiums, regulatory rules and product terms change constantly, and they differ by country.
Every article states the date its figures apply to and links to the organisation responsible for the rule. Always verify current details with the provider or regulator before acting. An article that was accurate when published may not be accurate today.
We hold no affiliate relationships
When we name an insurer, a bank, a credit card, an airline programme or an investment platform, we are not paid for it. We receive no commission if you open an account, buy a policy or apply for a card.
This is why our articles tell you to check terms directly with providers — we have no interest in which one you choose.
Accuracy and corrections
We research carefully and cite primary sources, but we don’t guarantee that everything on the site is complete, current or free of error.
If you find a mistake, tell us through our contact page and we will correct it. Our Editorial Policy sets out how we source and correct our work.
External links
Our articles link to regulators, government bodies, banks, insurers and airlines so you can verify what we’ve written. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, which can change without notice.
A link is not an endorsement of everything on the linked site.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Invest Smartlys accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on information published here. Use of the site is at your own risk.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Country differences
We write for readers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Europe. Financial rules differ substantially between them, and something accurate in one country may be wrong in another.
Where rules differ we say so, but you should always confirm what applies where you actually live.
